A fantastic collection signed Lucia Botella for Pepe Botella

Forty years ago, Pepe Botella opened his first bridal and ceremonial wear shop in his native city of Alicante. From the outset, the designer’s aim was to find new patterns and fabrics that moved away from the traditional severity and stiffness of bridal gowns. His first collection was launched under the Pepe Botella brand in 1988, and was an early indication of the freedom of movement and original colour use that were to characterise his designs from then on.

Today, the Pepe Botella philosophy is continued by his daughter Lucía, who grew up amidst veils, tulle and silk in the family’s Alicante studio. In 2000, the young designer presented her own first collection. A fan of ivory and natural silk, Lucía Botella is nonetheless a natural innovator and in 2005, her gowns began to include colour. Every collection is different in an ongoing quest to express the essence of femininity.
