Bridal Fashion For 2012

Buying a bridal dress is definitely a lot more important than buying sexy costumes every year. It’s your day and you have to look your part as all eyes will be on you. To look the gorgeous diva in white, you must know the latest bridal fashion for 2012.

2012, like every other year, brings with it a plethora of old designs reinvented and new designs waiting to be tried. Fashion gurus all over the world have been sweating it out day and night to make sure that every bride, like you, gets to be the most fashionable bride. Following are a few fashion trends that you must try –

·      Tulle is the Fabric – This is, literally, the last word for 2012 Bridal fashion. Going big is the mantra meaning that layers and ruffles are back with a bang. You can go for ball gowns or chapel length dresses that are multilayered and add Victorian feel to your entire look.

·      Lace Accents – Kate Middleton has brought this wonderful traditional fabric back to where it should be. Although, she sported full lace sleeves, if you are not comfortable in having so much lace on your dress, you can simple have some on the bodice of your wedding dress to just add that bit of oomph factor. Lace accents look very elegant and svelte.

·      Beading – Because of the standard white on white, brides have never been able to explore the possibilities of this exquisite area. You can get your designer to incorporate every little ribbon, rosette, crystal and pearl by hand on your dress. If you want to go a little bold, try beads with a little bling to exploit the 3D factor.

·      Structure And Style – With strapless dresses still ruling the hearts all over, a perfect fit becomes important. You don’t want to be seen hiking your gown up in all your wedding pictures. So, you can go for the latest built in structures that ensure you the best fit, with lifts and cinches in the right places. You can also try a corset closure, if you are a tad bit too conscious. One shoulder dresses, with flowers on the strap or halter necked dresses with spaghetti straps can also be tried, if you wish to set trends.

·      Two Dresses in One – Brides have always complained of having to spend a hell lot of money to get one more dress for reception. Well, for the fashion conscious bride, looking good is as important as saving some precious bucks. This trend is sure to do both the jobs in the best way possible. It is done with the help of matching boleros, matching jackets, dresses with removable straps and what not. The idea is to just give the dress a new look but adding some accessories or removing some, but keeping the basic structure intact.

When you are shopping for your wedding dress, be sure to buy Maybelline makeup products to define your beauty the best way you can. Also, make sure you keep an eye for these eye-popping trends because they are sure to make you a starlet on your most important day.

Vintage is Vogue

What goes around comes around. Today in the 21st century we are seeing items in fashion, and specifically in weddings, that predate most of our couples getting married.

A glance through WeddingMapper.com’s photo gallery will confirm: Vintage weddings seem to be all the rage. From Colorado to California, and Canada to Cambridge, England, brides are opting for vintage glam as their themed décor for their big day. Old, classic cars have often been the transportation means of choice, but when paired with a 1920’s cage veil, the look transforms to one from Grandma’s scrapbook.

Broaches pinned to the stems of a bouquet add a touch of significance, if the broach is a family heirloom, and a celluloid clamper bangle bracelet with rhinestones (from an estate sale in Chicago), even if purchased through eBay can be a favorite accessory for the bride in keeping with her deco theme.

Even bridesmaids have the chance to revert back to the flapper in them with vintage styled hair accessories. Large flowers worn in the hair are showing up in Florida, Mexico, California and Tennessee. Often these flowers are worn to the side, again a look that has a bit of a 1920’s flair to it.

Believe it or not, a vintage vibe is making its way in to the culinary arts as well. The trend for candy bars at weddings harks back to the “simple days” of when stores specialized in one commodity. Candy bars lend an air of fun and silliness, catering to the child in everyone, yet because of the established roots of a vintage candy shop, it lends a bit of sophistication and credibility.

With the return of vintage glamour, brides are checking off, with gusto, the “something old” category from the adage “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.” Let’s just hope, though, that we are borrowing vintage styles only and not any of the social norms our society has worked hard to change.

Top 6 bridal trends for 2009

Dior SS 2009
Dior SS 2009

Vintage Inspired

The vintage inspired look includes rhodium or antique-silver hair accessories and jewelry, bird cage or visor veils as well as outrageous feather and flower combs—all of which are a throwback to the 1920s. The vintage look is also the perfect opportunity to incorporate family heirlooms, such as Grandma’s silver brooch – timeless pieces that can be used with the visor veils or as an embellishment on gown sashes.

Hollywood Glam
Big hair, big jewelry, sparkling head pieces, and tons of glitz! That is Hollywood glam at its best. Use dazzling bouquet jewelry and long dramatic beaded gloves for extra glam! Long, layered, draping necklaces, oversized earrings and bold colored stones in red and black are perfect to draw attention.

Don’t Settle for Subtle… Chunky is in!
Brides are choosing to accent their gowns with big, bold jewelry sets–dramatic collars, clusters, or long strands of large pearls and beads, asymmetrical looks and multi-strand drops are all great ideas. Another new trend is a bare neckline with large chandelier earrings, paired with a wide, bold cuff bracelet to really make a statement – layering several smaller bracelets creates the same effect.

Go for the Gold!
The past year has been dubbed the return of gold bridal accessories! Brides are choosing darker-colored gowns in tones like champagne and dark ivory, in natural fabrics such as raw silk. Victorian style gowns accented with gold-tones are also popular this season. Nothing compliments these colors and textures like timeless gold jewelry. There is just something about the richness of the color gold that gives the feeling of luxury and elegance!

Organic or Natural Pearls and Stones
Continuing to be very hot this season is the trend to incorporate natural or “organic” elements and shapes into jewelry designs. The natural shape and beauty of Keshi and Fresh Water Pearls, mixed with glazed stones and dazzling Swarovski crystals, inspire exquisite bridal designs. A perfect match for a romantic destination wedding!

Greek Goddess Style
Want a look that’s sexy and modern, yet utterly classic? Go for the enchanting look of a Greek goddess-inspired style. The dress should be a long, lean and fluid silhouette or a romantic series of overlapping layers. With this look, the accessories are key to bringing it all together. Look for chunky leaf or vine patterns in a head piece or hair pins (depending on your hairstyle), as well as the jewelry. You could go with any color, but make sure it is artistic and fanciful.

Tips & Tricks

I picked San Patrick’s Bambu, which I absolutely loved from the moment I saw it.  I have no idea what to wear underneath and although I love the idea of a corset, I am worried that it will push my cleavage up too much for this dress. Do you have a suggestion of what might look nice underneath for a bride that needs a little help hiding her tummy?

That’s what Andrea asked me. Even do I didn’t had so much time to give a good search these are some sugestions. And, Andrea, a corset or a bustier doesn’t actually mean that it would lift your cleavage :) try a normal corset and you won’t have that problem.

The only thing you need is time, to choose the right version. I’d sugest a simple bustier that will hold back the tummy and sustain your brests. And don’t worry for the cleavage, the Bambu is an empire type dress but it doesn’t have a deep cleavage :) so you don’t need to worry about the way the corset will look.
